About Myself

I am a family physician, born, bred and trained in Canada. My medical training was at McMaster University and I completed my residency in Family Medicine there as well. While at McMaster I developed my passion for medical education. In Israel I was able to use that passion in my work as a Medical Educator at Tel-Aviv University, Israel.
I serve as Associate Director for the Pre-Clinical curriculum in the NY/American Program at The Sackler School of Medicine. I developed and implemented the USMLE Step 2 CS training program for our students at Sackler which focuses on the three sub-components of the exam; CIS, ICE & SEP. In addition I taught the Messer (Centre for Medical Simulation at Sheba) USMLE Step 2 CS course from its inception and until it closed 2 years ago. At present I also tutor individuals or small groups.
My earlier academic studies in Clinical Psychology have also contributed to my understanding of what the ECFMG ( Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) is screening for in the USMLE Step 2 CS Exam. By analyzing your communication and interpersonal skills I can evaluate what your learning stratagies need to be in order to successfully negotiate this high-stakes milestone in your career.
Having worked for many years as a Family Physician in Canada I have a realistic idea of what the differences are between the Israeli and North American models. My present work as a Hospitalist in Toronto keeps me aware of two medical worlds. I can help you translate that understanding into the behavior necessary to pass the Step 2 CS exam and enter the American medical world.
